Referring to correspondence ending with your letter No.D/45/139 of the 2nd February, I am directed to inform you that, if the War Department contend that the Kowloon Peak Barrack sites were transferred, this Government is prepared to take them back at the valuation of $160,350 ш originally placed upon them.

The value of land has not, in the opinion of this Government, increased in this isolated position.
